Maybrey Achieves Future Net Zero Gold Award for Sustainability

Jun 11, 2026 | News

Maybrey Precision Castings, as part of the Caro Group, has achieved the Future Net Zero (FNZ) Gold Award, the second tier of independent certification recognising verified carbon reduction achievement. The Gold award follows our earlier Silver certification and represents a measurable step forward in our Carbon Net Zero journey.

Our Carbon Reduction in Numbers

Since beginning our net zero journey in 2018, the Caro Group has made significant, independently verified progress. Our carbon footprint study has recorded a reduction from 265,888 kg CO2e at our starting point to substantially lower figures at each subsequent measurement. The Gold award verifies that we have met the intermediate milestones set by the UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign.

What We Have Done

The reduction has been achieved through a programme of change across energy, transport, supply chain, and operations. Highlights include transition to green energy contracts, investment in energy-efficient plant and machinery, expansion of our electric and hybrid vehicle fleet, and sourcing all pattern makers, core makers, and finishing contractors within ten miles of our Aylesford facility.

What Gold Means

The Future Net Zero programme awards achievement at Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels. The Gold award verifies that we have met the programme's targets for the second tier: comprehensive measurement and reporting of emissions across all scopes, and verified reduction ahead of the interim targets set by the Race to Zero campaign.

This is not the end of the programme. We are committed to reaching Platinum status, the highest level, and to continuous improvement beyond it.
