Aerospace & Defence Castings
Maybrey has supplied aerospace and defence castings since the Air Registration Board first approved our foundry in 1937. No other UK foundry holds a longer unbroken certification record. For Tier 1 and Tier 2 aerospace buyers and defence contractors, that track record is not a detail: it is the foundation of a supply relationship that can be relied upon.
Certifications
AS9100 Rev D
Aerospace quality management system, unbroken since 1937. Covers aluminium and copper-based alloy castings.
ISO 9001:2015
Quality management, covering all ferrous and non-ferrous castings, tooling manufacture, machining and finishing.
EN9100 / EN9001
For EU-based aerospace and defence customers.
JOSCAR Registered
Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register, relevant for UK defence procurement.
Cyber Essentials
Cybersecurity baseline certification.

Casting Capability for Aerospace
Sand casting
Aluminium alloys and copper-based alloys up to 250 kg. Full range of aerospace specification alloys.
Gravity die casting
Aluminium alloys to 25 kg. Commercial grades through to class one aerospace alloys.
Traceability
Full material and process traceability supported by our fully equipped laboratory and quality team.

NADCAP Approved Processes
For safety-critical applications, we offer a range of NADCAP-approved processing and inspection services, including:
- HIPping (Hot Isostatic Pressing): eliminates internal porosity in safety-critical castings
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing)
- X-ray: internal inspection of aluminium and ferrous castings
- Dye penetrant testing
Machining and Post-Process
We supply many aerospace castings fully machined through our CNC and conventional machine shop, with heat treatment also available on site. A wide range of additional finishes and coatings can be provided, including galvanising, powder coating and impregnation. This gives you a single trusted point of contact, reducing supply-chain complexity and simplifying traceability.
LaBoraTORY
Quality is checked at every stage in our in-house metallurgical laboratory. Using three spectrometers, a tensile testing machine and Brinell hardness testing equipment, we assess incoming metals and verify material composition throughout the process. We provide full chemical and mechanical certification, giving customers complete confidence in the quality, consistency and traceability of every casting.
We take your aerospace or defence casting through to a fully machined, finished and tested component, ready for safety-critical service.
