Post-Process Services

At Maybrey, the casting is the beginning, not the end. Our post-process capability means we can take your component from raw casting through to fully finished, tested, and ready to fit, all from a single facility in Kent. This reduces your supply chain complexity, protects quality at every handover, and saves time.

Surface Preparation

  • Shot blasting: removes surface scale and prepares for coating or inspection
  • Aluminium grit blasting: gentler abrasive process suitable for aluminium castings
  • Glass bead blasting: uniform satin finish while gently cleaning the surface

Thermal Processes

  • Heat treatment (To ASTM 2750 & ASTM 2771): Solution treatment and precipitation hardening (ageing) for aluminium alloys
  • Annealing: softening of ferrous and non-ferrous castings as required
  • HIPping (Hot Isostatic Pressing): eliminates internal porosity in safety-critical castings. NADCAP approved

Non-Destructive Testing

  • Radiographic: internal defect detection in aluminium and ferrous castings. NADCAP approved.
  • Dye penetrant testing: surface-breaking defect detection. NADCAP approved.
  • Chemical and mechanical testing: material certification and property verification
Machining

Machining

  • CNC machining: conventional and CNC machine shop facilities
  • Conventional machining: turning, milling, drilling
Surface Finishing

Surface Finishing

  • Polishing: for architectural and art castings requiring high surface quality

  • Patina: chemical and natural patination for bronze and copper-based castings

  • Powder coating: durable coloured finish for architectural and commercial work

  • Wet painting: conventional liquid paint application

Assembly

Assembly

  • Welding: in-house welding capability for joining and repair
  • Assembly: complete assembly of multi-component castings and sub-assemblies
